Terrell Owens says it’s ‘a joke’ he’s not playing ‘right now’ | NFL Kickoff 2017

“Even though I’m 43, trust me, I’m not your average 43-year-old,” the former wide receiver said.

Should Terrell Owens be in the NFL Hall of Fame?   Of course.  He will be the first to tell you he should be.  Can he still play?  Perhaps.  In all seriousness, he would last a couple of plays before an Achilles tendon would give.  43 years old is ancient for a skill player in the league.  Go quietly into that goodnight T.O.

Is Von Miller the best player in the NFL

I think Von Miller is the best player in the NFL. NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos

Last week someone asked me what I thought of Von Miller compared to Derrick Thomas.  I said I think he is better.  Why?  Derrick Thomas was one of the best players ever.  But…the year Von Miller is having is incredible considering that he lost some teammates from last year’s Super Bowl squad.  The same defense that beat the Carolina Panthers.  Peyton Manning is gone.  Malik Jackson is gone. Brock Osweiler took off for Houston (he sucks anyway).  Danny Trevathan, gone…David Bruton, gone.  The Broncos lost CJ Andersen to injury this year.  The current quarterbacks are mediocre.  Demarcus Ware is older and injury prone.  It goes on.  I am not an apologist for the Denver Broncos situation.  I am just pointing out that the one player that still shines is Von Miller.  Normally I would say that an offensive skilled player is the best, but after watching Von Miller develop over the years, I can say he is the best player in the NFL right now.  I played against Derrick Thomas, who I compared to Von Miller when he came into the league.  Derrick Thomas was  little bit bigger but they are very similar in ability.  They both dominated games.  They both rushed the passer and had an unbelievable first step, similar to Lawrence Taylor (sans the coke).  What I have noticed about Von Miller is he is getting better and better against the run.  He does it out of a 2-point stance.  I used to love when a defender lineup in a 2-point stance for a run.  He seems to excel at it.  I think it is because of his flexibility.  He can bend better than anyone on the league.  He is fast and agile, of course, but his “bend” is special.  He moves like someone 20 pounds lighter.  He had an ACL injury a few years back but you would never know.  He is always ready to play the game and never takes a play off.  Von Miller is a more complete player now and still learning.  Will he be as great as LT and DT?  Probably.  As for right now, in my humble opinion, he is the best player in the NFL.  Even if he on defense.
