The Dallas Cowboys spent most of the season as one of the top teams in the NFL, but enter Week 14 with the possibility of missing the playoffs. After starting 7-1, the Cowboys are now 8-4 and currently sit outside of playoff seeding in the NFC. On Thursday night, they will travel to Chicago to play the Bears on Thursday Night Football. While these teams are two of the most widely popular teams across the general public, but the meeting between the two will not bring a premium on the secondary market.
According to TiqIQ, the average price for Bears tickets against the Cowboys is $192.89 on the secondary market, 30% below Chicago’s season average at Soldier Field. This is currently the second least expensive home game on the Bears’ schedule, above only their game next week against the New Orleans Saints.
Chicago has experienced their own troubles on the field this season. The Bears lost their first three home games of the season, not gaining a win in Chicago until Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. After being one of the top offenses in the league last season, the unit has not been as impressive this season. As head coach Marc Trestman is viewed as an offensive mastermind, the disappointing offense has raised questions about his job security.
Dallas head coach Jason Garrett was in a similar position last season, but the Cowboys started the season playing the best football they’ve played in Garrett’s tenure. However, the Cowboys have lost three of their past five games and are in danger of once again missing the playoffs. To make a path to the playoffs even tougher, the Cowboys have only one home game remaining over their final four games. That game will be Week 16 against the AFC South leading Indianapolis Colts. The game against the Colts will be the third most expensive secondary market Cowboys tickets at AT&T Stadium this season behind the Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Eagles and an in-state game Week 5 against the Houston Texans. The average price against Andrew Luck and the Colts is currently $383.04 with a get-in price of $136.
The other two games for the Cowboys will come in Philadelphia and Washington against two teams Dallas has already lost to this season. The Eagles currently lead the NFC East, but most host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. With a Dallas win and Philadelphia loss this week, the teams would have the same record entering a Week 15 matchup at Lincoln Financial Field. The current average price for that game is $379.76, easily the most expensive game in Philadelphia this season. It is the only game with an average price above $300 on the secondary market.
